THEME: From Haki Yetu to Jukumu Langu!

UNDP Kenya and a number of Development Partners- European Union Delegation in Kenya, Embassy of Norway, Embassy of Sweden and the Embassy of The Netherlands- have established a Civil Society Democratic Governance Facility known as Amkeni Wakenya. This Facility aims to support the country in its efforts to uphold democratic governance, human rights and the rule of law through enhanced empowerment of the people and strengthening of relevant governance institutions

Under its Strategic Plan for 2011- 2015, Amkeni Wakenya intends to support citizen awareness and engagement in the development and implementation of laws and policies in three (3) strategic areas: Access to Justice, Local governance/Devolution, and Human Rights.

The call for proposals is open to local Civil Society Organizations duly registered in Kenya.

 Thematic  Areas  of Funding

a.    Access to justice especially for the  poor  and marginalized
b.    People Centered Devolved Government
c.    Realization of  Human Rights including Economic, Social , Cultural Rights 
d.    Long-term institutional reforms under Agenda 4 of the National Accord and Reconciliation Act

The Facility invites Applications from qualified local Civil Society Organizations, which have been in existence for more than two (2) years from all over the Country. Organizations from rural and remote areas of the Country are encouraged to apply

Organisations should submit both a Concept Note and Full Applications.
