Purpose of this TOR: Consultancy to design, develop and print IEC materials for the Tushirikishe Jamii Project using participatory approaches.

      Major tasks to be undertaken by consultant
Ø  Develop appropriate educative statements, phrases and words to use both in English and Kiswahili (and any local languages as will be deemed necessary).
Ø  Design IEC materials on which the educative and informative message would be imprinted.
Ø  Design materials that are acceptable and will resonate well with the target audience and cultural acceptable.
Ø  Ensure IEC materials are compliant with Forum Syd’s communication and visibility plan which was shared with Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs
Ø  Ensure compliance with the European Union Communication and Visibility guidelines as stated in their manual.

Responsibilities:
Action Against Hunger-USA (ACF) seeks to fill the role of Regional Training Manager, Nairobi, to support the operations of the Regional Training Center.

The Regional Training Manager will work closely with the Regional Training Center Director with assisting in the design and delivery of the Regional Training Center activities including but not limited to: training needs, identifying internal training and development for staff and coordinating/maintaining training calendars.

Additionally the Regional Training Manager will also be responsible for maintaining in-house training courses, managing country programs training budgets and working with the Regional Training Center Assistant to ensure administrative and logistic needs are coordinated and handled.

Description
The Open Society Foundations work to build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens. Among the Foundations' core areas of concern are human rights, government transparency, the promotion of civil society and social inclusion. Below are some possible topic areas that fellows may explore in the coming years:
·         Global migration and the rights of displaced minorities

·         The impact of new technologies on citizen access to information and justice

The Fellowship            The Open Society Fellowship chooses its fellows from a diverse pool of applicants that includes journalists, activists, academics, and practitioners in a variety of fields. Applicants should possess a deep understanding of their chosen subject area and a track record of professional accomplishment.

                                    Full-time fellows based in the United States will receive a stipend of $80,000 or $100,000, depending on work experience, seniority, and current income. Stipends will be prorated for part-time fellows. For fellows based elsewhere, appropriate adjustments will be made to reflect the  cost of living in those countries. The stipend does not necessarily equal the applicant's current salary. In certain cases, fellows will receive additional financial support to enable them to meet the residency expectation.

In addition to the stipend, fellows will receive a project budget. That budget may include expenses such as travel (including airfare and hotel), visa costs, part-time research assistance, conference fees and health insurance. Fellowship expenses should not include operational or programmatic costs, such as employees and physical infrastructure. The purpose of the fellowship is to support individual fellows; therefore the program will only cover individual expenses.

Description
The Swedish Institute Study Scholarships are targeted at highly qualified students from 12 developing countries with which Sweden conducts long-term development cooperation. Scholarships will be awarded for studies in Sweden mainly on second cycle (Master's level) from autumn 2011. Scholarships will cover both living costs and tuition fees. A few scholarships will be awarded for studies at first cycle (undergraduate) level.

The Fellowship            Prior to applying for a scholarship, application to a study degree program on Master’s or Bachelor’s level must be made via the online application service for study programs in Sweden at www.studera.nu.

The scholarships are intended for students belonging from the targeted countries for full time temporary studies in Sweden starting in fall semester 2011. There is no age limit for scholarship holders.
You are not eligible for this scholarship if any of the following is true:
·         You have already lived in Sweden for two years or more when the scholarship period is due to begin.
·         You have a Swedish permanent residence permit or a work permit.
·         You have previously been awarded a Swedish Institute scholarship for studies at the master’s level or research at a Swedish university.
·         You already hold master’s degree from a Swedish university/university college.
The scholarship covers both the tuition fee (which is paid directly to the Swedish university/university college by the Swedish Institute) and living expenses to the amount of SEK 8,000 per month.
The scholarship is only awarded for programs starting in fall semester 2011. The scholarships are usually granted for one academic year, i.e. for two semesters at a time, but will be extended for programs longer than two semesters provided that study results are satisfactory.
The scholarship is designed to cover living costs for the scholarship holder. There are no grants for family members. The granted scholarship period cannot be altered or extended.

1. Data Base Assistant Description
