As the Country Sales Manager - East Africa you will be based in Nairobi, Kenya reporting into the General Manager - Northern Africa. You will be responsible for ensuring sustainable and profitable market share growth and continuously strengthening the adidas brand image.

Job Profile
Functional
- To ensure a powerful execution of “go-to-market-strategy” for East Africa plus preparation and execution of sell-in to all East Africa customers in alignment with the GTM strategy and targets.
- To manage effectively cross-functional projects (incl. Area projects) on a country level
- WC management (DSO, control on receivables, stock-turns)
- To balance thoroughly business, marketing and financial objectives in order to derive the “best/optimal” results
- To analyze & evaluate complex business proposals/opportunities/ threats based on a sound understanding of management, balance sheet and P&L KPI’s
- To represent adidas as a “brand ambassador” in the country plus build, develop and maintain strong customer relationship management.
- To ensure best practice transfer (Region/Area) within the country
Personnel
- To staff most suitable persons in direct report positions in alignment with Area HQ
- To manage all functions as an integrated team by setting team objectives, targets and guidelines
- To motivate the “country team” to permanently strive for improving current performance levels (“attack spirit”) and to share the passion “All for one – One for all!”
- Cultivate an environment where employees respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices
Controlling
- To strive for meeting budget targets
- To report risks versus budget targets as early as possible to Area HQ
- To actively manage “bad debt risks”
- To drive retention of key players through talent and succession development
- Provide sound commercial feedback regarding local business & marketing requirements to Area HQ
Desired Skills & Experience
EducationBachelors Degree in related field (business administration/finance/economics)
Experience
5-7 years experience in a senior role preferably within Sales and Marketing within branded consumer goods industry in East Africa.
IT Skills
MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint - advanced
Outlook - intermediate
BI/Grape - basic

- South Sudan: water and sanitation, environment, solid waste management
- Central Somalia: emergency projects (health, food security,child protection, environment)
- Somaliland/Puntland: protection - child armed conflict, support to IDPs camps environment, solid waste management
The duty stations will be Nairobi and it will involves field missions to projects' locations (with the exclusion of South-Central Somalia)
The person will respond to the HQs Desk Officer and to the Reg Rep.
The person will work under the supervision of the Country Rep.
Main tasks:
- Ensure the administrative and financial management of Cesvi projects in Kenya, Somalia and Sudan
- Supervise and/or assist the projects' staff in the administrative and financial management of the projects
- Prepare the financial reports in line with the deadline required by Donors and HQs
- Be the focal point for the administrative and financial issues face to the HQ and to the in-country donors
- Draw up the administrative and financial planning with the PM
- Ensure an efficient office organization and a correct registration of the project documentation

Working as part of the East Africa team you will support CAFOD programme staff and partners in developing high quality programmes and projects, ensuring CAFOD and its partners obtain significant institutional donor funding for its development and humanitarian work, and maintaining and strengthening our relationship with key donors.
You will be fluent in Kiswahili as well as English with excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills, inter-cultural sensitivity and confidence in dealing with a wide range of Church and NGO partners. You should have experience of developing successful funding applications for institutional donors as well as participatory project design with the use of analytical tools. We also expect you to be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of developing and implementing monitoring systems to track the effectiveness of programmes and an ability to build cooperative, professional relationships with donors.
