General information on the scholarship programme:
The Government of the Czech Republic offers a number of scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance Programme in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.
These so called Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study:
1) in Bachelor/Master study programmes plus one-year preparatory course of the Czech language (which is combined with other field-specific training). Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from upper secondary schools who can enrol only in study programmes in which they followinstruction in the Czech language. Depending on the subject area, applicants are normally required to take entrance examinations at the respective institution of higher education. The scholarship award is conditional upon a successful passing of entrance examinations;
or
2) in follow-up Master study programmes or Doctoral study programmes. Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates of Bachelor or Master study programmes, respectively, who enroll in study programmes with instruction in the English language.
Scholarship applications together with the required attachments are to besubmitted to the appropriate Czech Embassy in the applicant’s country before the deadline set by the Embassy so that the applicants’ dossiers reach the respective Czech authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport) by 15 January each year.

The University of Notre Dame's Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies invites applications for its master’s degree in international peace studies. Students accepted into the program receive a full scholarship, a stipend for housing and living expenses, and an outstanding graduate education.
The Kroc Institute is a leading center for peace research and teaching. The master’s degree prepares students from around the world for a wide range of careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Students in the two-year master’s program:
· Complete coursework in peace and justice theory, contemporary conflicts and strategies of peace, and career paths in public policy, political change, management, and conflict analysis and transformation.
· Work as interns for six months at leading organizations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, or the United States, strengthening professional skills.
· Make connections and join a global network of Kroc Institute alumni at work in more than 100 countries around the world.
Graduates of the master's program hold leadership positions in government agencies, policy centers, and local, regional, and international nongovernmental organizations.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Open Society Scholarship Programs sponsor a joint scholarship program for graduate students in the Balkans and graduate students and junior faculty in the Transcaucasian and Central Asian countries of the former Soviet Union.
The program is designed to improve the framework for teaching and research in humanities and social sciences in the region. At the same time, it promotes network-building among the participants and German academics as a basis for further international exchange activities.
